Yesterday, I went to my Lexus dealer to replace my broken tire. When we purchased my Lexus in 2008, we also purchased 5 years tire warranty. As we understood that (the sale representive told us), within 5 years, if anything abnormal happened to the tires, we can replace with new tires without paying a penny. My husband said, hmm, it's a good deal, it will be covered in 5 years! One year ago, we got a flat tire, and we did get to use this warranty that time!
After waiting for 45 minutes, the representative came out and told me that my tire was not covered by the warranty! I have to pay $210 to replace my broken tire!
Can you guess Why it is not covered??? I even double checked the validation date for the warranty before I made the appointment!
He showed me a report --- saying my tire has worn more than 1/2 of the thickness! Only if it has less than 1/2 usages could be covered by the warranty! My god! We were "cheated"! 上当了！
If you have used other brand type of tires from now on (because it will be cheaper), your warranty is just an useless paper! I guess, none of our tires would qualify their "requirements" any more. For us, we spent $500 to replace just one tire!
