Representatives from these groups, after you call and identify yourself as a member (or cardholder), will give you the name and phone numbers of their network of dealers to get the "no hassle" price. I've called several to establish the relationship, and to let them know that I am a serious buyer. I make a note of their price, thank them for their time, get their e-mail address, and tell them I will be in touch.
Now the fun starts. A week or so before I'm ready to buy, I send a group e-mail (no bcc: needed), identify all the car details, including price, and specify the date that I will buy the car. I give them a deadline for a chance to beat this price. I always thank people when they respond, and call personally to re-confirm the color (and any final details) before the deadline.
Ideally, I will hear from each salesperson/dealership. It's always reassuring to hear from some dealers that they can't match the price I've been quoted.
No stress and no negotiating. Finally, the advantage goes to us, the car buyer, and yes, the car buying process can be enjoyable!
